Things that may help your photographer on the big day.

How exactly can you help your photographer on the wedding day? Well the answer is much simpler than you think. For me it all starts with the consult call. This is where I can get a feel for what the couple is looking for. Sometimes I am the right fit and sometimes I am not. I prefer a smaller more intimate wedding. I am not much on the larger weddings. Some of the more intimate moments can get lost in it all. I like to be up close and capture every emotion of the day. During the call we will talk about everything from the venue to the reception. Sometimes even after.

Staring with why you chose the venue. This information could be important in deciding where we may be able to take some portraits after the ceremony. Maybe it is a special fountain you liked or a special tree. These are details I want to capture for you and your partner.

Then going over all the special people in your lives. Sometimes a list is needed. We all have a list in our minds of the “Generic" shot list. In my experiance this is often not the case. When talking with your photographer. Make sure to mention the special people in your lives. I want you to have all the photographs you and your spouse could ever need. For so many of us sadly your wedding may be the last time you will have photographs with everyone in one place. For so many others this will be the last time you will ever have professional photogaphs taken.

Also if you do not have a planner. Make sure you have someone you trust to fill that roll. Just in case the need arises. I or the photographer you choose can go to this person with any issues as to not spoil the day with small issues.

Have a timeline in mind. Great if it is written down but at least communicate it with your photographer. This will help make things go much much smoother. Nothing worse than a member of the wedding party planning something and having no photographs of it.

These are just a few tips that could make planning your special day a little better. If you are planning a wedding or know someone who is. Please feel free to reach out if you would like to book. Or share this with them. Maybe it can help them.
